All of the lessons’ reading selections (of more than a few sentences) are accompanied by audio, so that if you prefer to listen to the selections, you may do so, or if you find it helpful to read and listen at the same time, you may. Vocabulary that is important to the understanding of the lesson is explained in the text by using your curser. Simply point the curser at the word or phrase, and an explanation will “pop up.” You will be expected to recall the vocabulary in the assessment items that appear periodically throughout the lesson. If you are not familiar with the vocabulary items, be sure to look at the “pop ups” as you progress through the lesson. All of the information included in the lessons is important to use and learn, so there will be assessment items to find out what you have learned from each section of a lesson. Assessments will be strategically positioned throughout each lesson. They will be presented in a variety of formats, including: Matching, Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Ordering, Flash Cards, Crossword, Seek A Word, Timeline. You may have an option to choose the assessment you prefer, or you may choose more than one option. At times, there will be links to on-line information in video format. Take the time to view the videos, and do the assessments. They will be important to the assessment process.In order to earn a certificate of completion, you must pass the assessment at 70% or higher. In order to earn a certificate of mastery, a 90% or higher must be earned. At the end of each lesson, you may print the certificate you earned.
